A Saturday, roughly
A Day in Austin, SpeedAustin Style
Not a real dater, not a real day, but a fair composite of the kind of Saturday that ends with someone walking into one of our events already in a good mood. This is what that looks like.
Morning
Trail first, coffee second
A run or a walk before the heat sets in, whether that's Lady Bird Lake, a neighborhood loop, or just getting outside before the day gets away. Coffee after, not before, because the point was moving, not caffeinating.
Midday
Tacos, obviously
Breakfast tacos that have technically become lunch tacos at this point. Everyone in this city has an order they don't have to think about anymore, and a strong opinion about someone else's choice.
Afternoon
Somewhere with water, or shade, or both
Barton Springs on a hot day, a shaded patio if it's not. Austin gives you options for staying outside without melting, and most of our daters take full advantage of them before the sun really commits.
Evening
A speed dating event, Downtown or Oak Hill
Higbie's if the night calls for Downtown energy, Oak Hill Social if it calls for something a little more relaxed. Either way: six to seven minutes at a time, real conversations, no name tags, no forced icebreakers.
Later
Wherever the night goes next
Maybe a Date Mate. Maybe just a good night out with new people. Either way, the event wraps but the evening doesn't have to, and that's exactly how we built it.
Austin already knows how to have a good day. We just give it somewhere good to end up.
